On Saturday someone wanted to come take a look at the house, so Maggie and I decided to occupy our time by going and seeing Untraceable. It looked half-way decent and we had about 2 hours to kill. Well, we would’ve been better off turning the car on, and just sitting in the garage.
This was a terrible, terrible movie. It was just bad in every way. There wasn’t any redeeming quality about it. The acting was bad; the story was full of holes and impossibilities. There was very little character development and it was rather predicable. About an hour in, Maggie and I both wanted to walk out, but seeing as we had already invested the time and the $12, decided to stay. I’m not so sure we made the right decision.
Either way, this was a sorry attempt at retelling Saw (only the first one, none of the other ones count), or Se7en. I would not recommend watching this, not even as a drinking game. Movies like The Core, Stealth, Mind Games, Armageddon, etc. have a certain quality about them that makes them tolerable. We’ve seen a lot of bad movies, and this is no exception.
In other news, the rest of the weekend was pretty good. The weather was awesome, we got the house cleaned, we got to play some Warcraft, and it was just nice to just relax.
Friday night I got to hang out with Jon Lee. We went to the Vortex and I got to experience what I can only describe as the best and worst burger of all time (the Elvis burger: Beef, bacon, bananas, peanut butter, and I added cheese dip and ranch for extra flavor). Luckily I only had 1 bite of that. Any more and I would’ve died…right there. After that, we hung out for a bit then went to the Claremont Lounge. It’s safe to say that this place has not changed since the first and only time I’ve been. It really is an experience.
Read above for Saturday. Sunday we sat around, then we decided we were gonna do our weekly long-run. I can’t express how proud I am of Maggie. She pushed herself farther than she ever had before. She ran like 4.5 miles or something. That’s pretty awesome considering she’s been having wicked shin splints. I only see her improving and that makes me happier than ever. I wanted to see if I could push my self to a 10k, and I did. It actually came out to something like 10.79k so damn! The only downside is that I may have sprained or caused a stress fracture in my left foot. If it’s not better by tomorrow I’m going to head to the doctor. It really hurts to walk, so we’ll see.
That’s about all I had. The post title, is a bit misleading, but eh, whatever. Bottom line is, don’t see Untraceable, but do go for a run. That’s it. Have a great week!
